Founded in 1989, Auto-Lab began as a single store auto repair facility located in Sturgis, MI. The company quickly grew to include 5 independently owned and operated facilities with a focus on tune-up and diagnostic work, and providing an alternative to dealership service. Due to the success and rapid growth of these facilities the company made a decision to offer franchise opportunities in 1992. Between 1992 and 2003 the company structure continued to grow into 24 locations in the state of Michigan.

In 2004 Auto-Lab changed ownership, when Frank Brandenberg and a small group of investors bought the company. Frank’s vision was to take the Michigan based company nationwide. In 2006 Frank brought in Stephen Wilson, as President and C.O.O. By the end of 2011, the company’s goals of expansion were in full swing with stores in Indiana, Iowa, and Florida. At the beginning of 2012, Frank partnered with the Equity Group of LV2. The vision was to bring in partners with fresh ideas and to grow Auto-Lab with corporately owned locations, without losing focus on franchising. Fast forward to today with the purchase of the rights of the state of Texas, by Communitas, LLC. Auto-Lab is on the road to nationwide dominance.

The company changed its name from Auto-Lab Diagnostic and Tune-Up Centers to Auto-Lab Complete Car Care Centers. The name change encompassed more of the focus on complete car repair, while still specializing in the latest diagnostic services.

Auto-Lab Complete Car Care Centers will have celebrated its 26th anniversary in June, 2015. The company is proud of its A+ rating with the BBB as well as supporting many charitable events in the local communities of our Auto-Lab Complete Car Care Centers.
